Undersvik is an old diocesan farm that was run by the Uppsala Diocese until 2023. After careful renovation, STF now runs a hostel and hotel next to Ljusnan, with fine fishing waters, swimming areas and green areas that invite you to mushroom picking, walking, running and road and gravel cycling.
Undersvik is also in close proximity to a variety of attractions and activities, right between Järvsö and Orbaden. Feel free to ask the staff and they will share their best tips!
Water sports
Discover Ljusnan from the water – a quiet world of mirror-like water and forested mountains. At Underviks Gårdshotell you can easily rent a kayak, canoe or SUP via QR code. Embark on a peaceful trip at sunset where Ljusnan winds its way between green hills and each paddle stroke becomes a journey through silence, light and landscape.
Along the shore, small coves and swimming spots await where you can pause, take a dip or enjoy a coffee you brought with you. For those who want to discover more, it is fine to paddle longer distances – perhaps all the way to Järvsö or Orbaden.
Adventure
In the summer, Järvsö is a thriving cycling resort with a mountain bike park. Climbing is also an activity that has become popular with Zip and Climb in Orbaden. Don’t miss a visit to Vildriket, formerly Järvzoo, for a chance to see lynx, wolves and brown bears.
Culture
Hälsingland has a strong cultural heritage and is most famous for its Hälsinge Farms, which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Don’t miss a visit to one of the beautiful cultural heritage sites such as Gästgivar’s, Kristofers or Erik-Anders, read more about Hälsinge Farms here (opens in new tab). Växbo Lins linseed mill is also a popular excursion destination.

Offerberget Cultural Walk
Offerberget is signposted from road 83 to the turning area where you can park. The distance between Storsten on Offerberget and the turning area is about 750 meters. The path up is not a demanding walk, although a bit steep. From the top of Offerberget, about 296 meters above sea level, you have a wonderful view of the valley and Ljusnan. Along the path up the mountain, it is well signposted with various information boards about the various sights that you can see along the way up. Among other things, you can see the remains of trap pits
Djupaåsen
Hiking up the mountain Djupaåsen and the Torsborg fitness cabin which is located at the top of the mountain. About 5 km hike from the facility. There is a barbecue area and an outdoor toilet.
