Stay in a cosy, homelike setting by the shores of Lake Fryken. Nature is right outside the door, and in the evening you can watch the sun slowly set over the water. Here you will find individually decorated rooms, tranquillity, and close proximity to culture, hiking and swimming – a place for relaxation in a warm and beautiful environment.

Villa Fryksta is a personal hotel located by the shores of Lower Fryken in Kil. The house holds many stories dating back to the early 1900s, and the atmosphere still reflects a time when people gathered here for rest, community and nature experiences. Today, you are welcomed by a warm and genuine atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and feel at home.

The rooms are individually decorated with care and respect for the history of the house. From several rooms you can glimpse the shimmering water through the trees. Guests also have access to shared lounge areas, a large terrace with lake views, and a relaxation area with sauna.

With the lake just below the house, it is easy to make the most of the day. Start your morning with breakfast on the terrace or in the dining room overlooking Fryken, then continue with hiking, paddling, swimming or excursions in the Värmland countryside. In and around the Fryksdalen valley you will find nature reserves, hiking trails and fairytale-like landscapes. For culture lovers, many experiences are within easy reach – from high-quality theatre performances at Berättarladan and cultural heritage sites to Selma Lagerlöf’s Mårbacka and Lars Lerin’s Sandgrund.

Villa Fryksta is equally suited for a romantic weekend, an active stay or a quiet break by the water. The surroundings offer easily accessible paths, outdoor recreation areas, viewpoints and a rich cultural scene throughout the year.

Public transport
Bus and train services run to Kil, located about 5 kilometres from Villa Fryksta. From Kil, guests can book flexible on-demand buses operated by Värmlandstrafik, which run without fixed timetables and according to demand (most easily booked via the Värmlandstrafik app).

By car
Free parking is available at the accommodation. Travel times are approximately 4 hours from Stockholm, 3 hours 45 minutes from Gothenburg, 3 hours 15 minutes from Oslo, and 30 minutes from Karlstad.

On foot
The Fryken Trail and the Fallet Trail pass Villa Fryksta.
