How do I get to Kebnekaise Mountain station?

You can travel to Kiruna by train with SJ (opens in new tab) or by air with SAS (opens in new tab). To get from Kiruna to Nikkaluokta, 66 km by road, you can take a taxi or the Nikkaluokta Express bus (opens in new tab). The bus departs from Kiruna bus station and stops at Kiruna railway station and the airport before continuing to Nikkaluokta. In Nikkaluokta, the public road ends, and this is where the hiking, skiing, or snowmobile trail to STF Kebnekaise Mountain station begins. From Nikkaluokta, it’s a scenic 19 km hike or ski trip. Estimated time is approximately 6–8 hours. If you want to shorten the journey, local operators offer boat transport across Lake Ladtjojaure during summer and snowmobile transport in winter.
