Discount on train travel

As a member of STF, you receive a discount on train tickets with several major train operators. The membership discount applies to SJ, Snälltåget, and Norrtåg. STF advocates for sustainable tourism that protects the natural and cultural values of the destinations. This includes using environmentally friendly means of transportation as much as possible.

Discount on the following train operators

Please note that you can view and book departures from other train operators through most train companies’ booking channels. However, it is not possible to use a single discount code that works for multiple train companies simultaneously. Therefore, you must book the train journeys separately if your trip involves different operators’ sections and you want to receive a discount on the entire journey.

  1. 10% discount* on journeys with SJ
  2. 10% discount* on journeys with Snälltåget
  3. 15% discount* on journeys with Norrtåg

STF members receive a percentage price reduction, according to the table below, on all train journeys operated by SJ. The percentage price reduction is calculated based on SJ’s regular price that SJ generally applies for the specific journey.

To receive a discount on SJ train journeys, the following applies:

  1. Purchases must be made at least 10 days before the departure date.
  2. The booking must be made through SJ’s booking module under STF’s member login.
  3. A valid membership is required.

The SJ train ticket discount does not apply to:

  1. Family and group offers, child and senior tickets, or SJ’s lowest price.
  2. Routes subject to special track fees/station fees (e.g., Arlanda).
  3. Other train operators.
  4. Period cards/annual cards or similar cards.
  5. In combination with other offers.
  6. Night train journeys with pets.
  7. Journeys on part of a Resplus route operated by another provider (e.g., regional transport routes).
  8. VAT and booking fees.
  9. Journeys booked with less than 10 days’ notice before the departure date.

The train ticket discount with Norrtåg does not apply to:

  1. Group offers.
  2. Student, child, or senior tickets, or in combination with other offers, discounts, or campaigns.
  3. Combined trips with other train companies/Resplus. To use the discount for a full journey involving multiple train companies, the different segments must be booked separately.
  4. The purchase of flexible tickets and season tickets.
