Abisko – Cave adventure
The Kåppasjokk caves form one of Sweden’s longest cave systems, with winding passages and tunnels extending deep into the bedrock. Join us for an adventure in this fascinating and thrilling cave network.
One of Sweden’s longest cave systems lies hidden beside a stream near Abisko. We’ll pack up our caving gear and drive a few kilometers westward, then hike up the mountain slope to the cave entrance, Kåppashåla. Upon arrival, we’ll suit up with coveralls, helmets, and headlamps before descending underground. Your guide will lead you through a maze of narrow passages, large chambers, and incredible formations shaped by nature’s forces over thousands of years.
When it’s time to head back, we’ll hike down along Kåppasjåkka, where we’ll also discover waterfalls and giant’s kettles (also known as a glacial pothole).
