STF Edsbyn Hostel

The Voxnan valley farmers never sold their forest. Instead, they used the forest and its flax to create their own wealth. One result of this is the stately Hälsingegårdarna, located along Voxnan and around adjacent lakes.

The hostel is known among the locals as Doma and is beautifully located next to Stora Hälsingegårdars road, in an old farmhouse. The hostel has been carefully renovated and much of original building has been preserved. The house and the lovely yard are child-friendly and well suited for camps and seminars.

Voxnan moves like a snake down towards the coast. Birds thrive here, and the whole valley sings in spring. The beaches slope steeply down in places, and in places the river is lined with long sandy beaches. The Voxnan river is suitable for fishing and kayaking, swimming and meditation. All of Hälsingland welcomes you warmly.

Here you will stay in 1-4 bed rooms. If you prefer more secluded accommodation, you can book one of our cozy 1-6 bed lean-tos. Toilets and showers are adjacent to the rooms. You have access to a guest kitchen and several meeting rooms. Enjoy the first sun of spring or warm summer nights on the veranda or in our lovely garden with ample seating.
 
Winter activities
Skating on the lakes. Cross country skiing. Slalom and snowboarding. Ice fishing.
 
Summer activities
Lake fishing. Paddling. Stora Hälsingegårdars Road. Golf – several golf courses nearby. Hiking trails. Orienteering. Bird-watching. Å-simmet in Voxnan, Persmässa and Volasda’ in July. Berry and mushroom picking.
 
Indoor activities
Bandy in Arenan (August to March). Ice hockey. Bowling. Swimming (two public swimming baths). Cinema. Museum. Art exhibitions and cafés. Second-hand shopping – great assortment.
