In Arådalen, you’ll find great opportunities for easy day hikes in the mountains. Perhaps a trip to the summit of Hundshögen or a visit to the old and well-preserved summer farm in Östra Arådalen? These summer farms were once a key part of Jämtland’s farming community and later became overnight stops for the first generation of mountain tourists.

Hikes

• Hundshögen summit, about 5 km uphill, easy but ascending.
• Västra Arådalen’s summer farm, about 5 km across the mountain on “Tiren trail” and 4.5 km through the forest on a tractor track.
• Walk around Angelika lake, about 2 km.
• Höglekardalen, about 20 km.
• Gräftåvallen, about 20 km.
• Dörrsjöarna, about 8 km.
• Östra Arådalen’s summer farm – a cultural heritage site, 4 km. 15 minutes to the tree line.

If you enjoy fishing, try your luck in Visjön or Arån. For families with children, the peaceful surroundings and gentle nature, with small mountain streams, invite exciting discoveries. Fishing permits are available for purchase.
