STF Jämtlandsfjällen comprises the mountain stations Storulvån, Blåhammaren, Sylarna, and Helags, along with several mountain cabins. Some stations are accessible by car, while others can only be reached through scenic hikes, ski tours, or snowmobiles. Throughout the year, these locations attract a delightful mix of alpine ski tourers, nature enthusiasts, and seasoned mountaineers.

What distinguishes a mountain station from a mountain cabin?

For first-time visitors to a mountain station or cabin, it may be unclear what to expect. All our accommodations, whether stations or cabins, provide real beds with pillows, duvets, and linens. Room options range from double rooms with private shower/WC to four-bed rooms and dormitories.

Mountain stations offer a higher standard of facilities, including running hot and cold water and electricity. Saunas with stunning mountain views provide space for relaxation and reflection. Meals are prepared with wonderful local delicacies from across Jämtland. Working with locally sourced ingredients is a key priority for us.

In a mountain cabin, you fetch water directly from the mountain stream. These cabins offer the ultimate way to connect with nature in a safe and authentic setting. We teach you how to live comfortably and at ease, even with simpler conditions—turning simplicity into a strength.
