About the accommodation

STF Kvikkjokk Mountain Station is located deep in the Lapland mountain wilderness. Thousands of visitors come here every year, as Kvikkjokk serves as a gateway to several of our classic national parks: Padjelanta, Sarek, and Stora Sjöfallet.

View details

Kvikkjokk is also the starting point of the northern section of the legendary King’s Trail (Kungsleden), where every step along the path carries a story from the birthplace of mountain tourism in Sweden. The first researchers, adventurers, and nature enthusiasts travelled through this very landscape, creating a legacy that is proudly preserved and nurtured today. Kvikkjokk is more than just a mountain station – it is the beginning of an adventure and the gateway to some of Scandinavia’s most iconic wilderness areas.

Many hikers choose Kvikkjokk as either the starting point or the final destination of their mountain journey. After days spent crossing the fells, there is something truly special about being able to enjoy a hot shower, relax in the sauna, savour a good meal, and sleep in a comfortable bed. Kvikkjokk’s restaurant is renowned for its spectacular views, excellent food, and the warm hospitality of its staff.

For those who prefer to prepare their own meals, a well-equipped self-catering kitchen is available to guests staying overnight. Upstairs, you will find the historic glass veranda and lounge, where the sound of the rushing rapids below, snow-capped peaks in the distance, and the atmosphere of times gone by create a unique setting. For hundreds of years, mountain travellers have gathered here to unwind and enjoy the peace that settles in after a day spent exploring the wilderness.

A warm welcome to STF Kvikkjokk Mountain station.
