STF Årås Säteri & Trädgårdar

Beautifully located by the river Tidan in the nature reserve Årås, between the lakes Jogen and Vållern lies this manor dating back to the 15th century. Once “the county’s most important estate and manor seat” and for more than 200 years in the possession of the Gyllenstierna family. The nature and the landscape are magical and it is not difficult to understand that it was precisely this region that inspired director Colin Nutley for the popular Änglagård films. The environment has great cultural and historical value and the area is rich in ancient monuments and church ruins. There is also a large and varied range of cycling and hiking trails here.

Årås Säteri & Trädgårdar is today run and developed on a non-profit basis by Bygdegårdsföreningen Årås Kvarn, an association with deep roots in building maintenance and garden development. During the year, classes are organized in these areas to spread knowledge and preserve Årås for future generations. Traditional Valborg and Midsummer celebrations are interspersed throughout the year with a Christmas market and other cultural events. In this way, the entire Årås manor house with its wings, mill and gardens, both with the vegetable growing and flourishing park, continues to live on and remain an important part of the cultural heritage.

At Årås Säteri & Trädgårdar accommodation is offered in three of the buildings. Each one unique and carefully renovated with individually furnished rooms, where you as a guest can choose the one that suits you best. There are a total of 50 comfortable beds spread over the various buildings.
