Backlunds Bed and Breakfast offers tastefully decorated accommodation with an old-world charm. Here you’ll find tranquil nature, a rich cultural life and sweeping views of Lake Siljan. We welcome you to a personal cultural accommodation in a real Dala village.

Vikarbyn is located at the end of the road, with a mighty view down to Lake Siljan. Vikarbyn has a nice old village center with cultural-historical buildings surrounded by forests and meadows. Today the area, with its special nature, offers a wide range of natural and cultural experiences. We are happy to guide you to our wild strawberry sites and to the unique Dala culture.
 
Backlunds is run by Lasse and Marie. Lasse was born and raised in upper Gärdsjö, a mile north of Rättvik. Marie grew up in Vikarbyn on Karnesgården, down in the “old village”, so we are both locals and passionate about the area.
 
Our small family business started in 2001, when we rented out the Dala room of our house. The business has grown gradually since then, and after continuous renovation work, our bed and breakfast now has 13 bright and individually decorated rooms with a total of 34 beds. We want you to have a wonderful stay with us and return home rested, with your lungs filled with fresh air and wonderful memories of our exciting culture and nature.

    Travel options
    We are located at Storavägen 37 in Vikarbyn, 7km north of Rättvik and 30km south of Mora. By car, the journey takes about 3.5 hours from Stockholm and about 3 hours from Arlanda Airport.

    If you prefer to go by public transport, there are buses from Rättvik and Falun that stop right next to our B&B (get off at the "Lissängsvägen Vikarbyn” bus stop). From Falun the bus takes just over an hour, and from Rättvik it takes around 15 minutes.
