Waking up in a winter landscape can be wonderful but also challenging. If you lack the knowledge but have the curiosity and desire to explore the mountains in a new way, join our guides for an extraordinary mountain experience. The tour starts from Kebnekaise Mountain Station, but we will spend nights at the Singi Mountain Cabin, where you can choose to stay either in a tent or in the cabin. The second-to-last night will be spent outdoors on the mountain, under the stars, camping beyond the marked trails.

Program

Day 1 – Arrival day
We meet at 15:00. Your guides introduce themselves, go through practical information and show you the route plan for the week. We hand out the shared equipment. If you need to rent skis, we sort that out now. You’re welcome to book a ski package in advance via kebnekaise.sport@stfturist.se. As an STF member, you get 15% off equipment rental.

Your guides double-check your essential gear: sleeping bag, sleeping mat, insulated jacket and thermos. Please bring these to the kick-off meeting. At 19:00 we have dinner together. Make sure you’re fully packed the evening before we leave for Singi Mountain Cabin. You can leave anything you don’t need on the ski tour at the mountain station.

Day 2
We start the day with breakfast in Elsas Kitchen. After breakfast, we pack up and load the pulk sleds with the gear and food we need. As soon as we’re ready, we ski towards Singi Mountain Cabin. Once we arrive, we get to know the cabin and cook dinner together.

Day 3
We head out on a shorter day trip around Singi. In the afternoon, we go through winter camping: how to pitch the tent, plus tips and tricks for staying really comfortable inside it. Back in the cabin, we talk about winter safety. You learn how to plan a winter adventure, which routines matter when you camp in winter and what it takes to do it on your own. If you like, you can spend the night outdoors in a tent.

Day 4
We make breakfast, pack our gear and clean the cabin. After the morning chores, we ski off towards tonight’s camp out on the mountain. We take turns pulling the pulk sleds and help each other reach our campsite on the northwest edge of Liddujávrrit. We set up camp and settle in for a night out on the mountain. With a bit of luck, the sky is clear and you can watch the stars of the Milky Way or the northern lights in all their glory.

Day 5
Hopefully you slept well! We cook breakfast, break camp and get ready to ski back to Kebnekaise Mountain Station, where a shower and sauna are waiting. In the evening, we have dinner together in the restaurant and look back on the week.

Day 6
After breakfast, our week comes to an end. If you plan to take a snowmobile back to Nikkaluokta, make sure you book it before you leave home.
