More about STF Jokkmokk /Åsgård Hostel
In addition to the renowned market, there are many reasons to visit Jokkmokk. Muddus, Sarek, Padjelanta and Stora Sjöfallet national parks are nearby and attract tourists from all over the world. The world heritage site Laponia offers a fascinating insight into the history, lifestyle and traditions of the Sami culture as does the Fjäll- och Samemuseet Ájtte (Mountain and Sami Museum), also in Jokkmokk.
Åsgård was built in the 1920's for Domänverket (state owned forestry company) as residence for its forester. Today it is a cosy place to stay, close to all the sights and centrally located in the middle of Jokkmokk. The winter market is literally just around the corner.
