Söderfors Herrgård, recently renovated, was built in the late 17th century, and its buildings, salons and surroundings still bear traces of times gone by. You stay in a peaceful former ironworks community beside the Dalälven River, close to the English park and the well-preserved industrial heritage area with former smiths’ cottages, a church, and historic industrial environments.

The rooms are located in the main building and in charming wings surrounding the courtyard. They are bright and modernly furnished, with details that reflect the manor’s history. Rooms offer views of the river, the park or the historic workers’ housing. In the dining room, bar and lounges, you can enjoy views over the Dalälven River and the crackling fireplace. The food follows the seasons and is inspired by Swedish ingredients, offering a flavourful and genuine dining experience. At Söderfors Herrgård, you can also unwind in the spa area with warm baths and sauna, or on the floating sauna on the river.

The area surrounding the manor is ideal for activities and experiences. In summer, you can walk in the English park, paddle on the Dalälven River or explore the historic ironworks area. Färnebofjärden National Park is within easy reach and offers nature experiences of world-class quality. In winter you can explore cross-country ski trails, a small ski slope with a lift and ice fishing on frozen sections of the river.

Söderfors Herrgård is perfect for both a quiet weekend getaway and longer stays, all year round. It is also possible to host conferences, courses, weddings and other gatherings here. Located 1.5 hours north of Stockholm by the waters of the Dalälven and surrounded by culture and nature, the manor offers a unique combination of history, comfort and outdoor experiences.

    Travel information
    Public transport
    Trains run to Tierp. From there, continue by regional bus to Söderfors. The bus stop is within walking distance of the manor, along quiet roads through the historic ironworks area.

    By car
    From the E4, take the exit towards Tierp and follow the signs to Söderfors. Once in the village, the manor is signposted. Parking is available at the accommodation.

    By bicycle or on foot
    You can reach the manor via smaller roads through the ironworks area and down towards the Dalälven River. Nearby runs the old E4, which today serves as a quieter road and is well suited for cycling and walking to and from the accommodation.
