Train to the mountains
Take the train to the mountains! It's a sustainable and pleasant way to travel. To many of our mountain destinations, you can take the train, combined with a bus to reach the final part of the journey. If you are a member of STF, you also get a discount with several train operators.
In the Swedish mountains, there are several railway stations within walking distance of ski slopes, cross-country trails, and beautiful summer mountains. To some places, you need to travel a bit further with a local bus or transfer. There are many advantages to taking the train to the mountains – but for us, the environmental reason is the most important. As a bonus, those who take the train avoid long stretches behind the wheel. It’s easy to find and plan your train journey via one of STF’s partners. Choose between night trains or daytime travel.
