Getting to STF Storulvån Mountain Station is easy and climate-friendly. Take an SJ train to either Duved or Enafors, and then a connecting transfer with Wänseth Buss/Topptaxi all the way to Storulvån. For the timetable, see: www.wansethbuss.se/tidtabell (opens in new tab). The transfer runs on a set schedule and connects with selected train arrivals and departures. Storulvån is located 17 km from highway E14. Travel time is approximately 2 hours from Östersund, 1 hour from Åre, and 1.5 hours from Trondheim. From E14 in Enafors, follow the signs to Storulvån. The final 8 km runs along the edge of the bare mountain plateau on an asphalt road, offering magnificent views of the Jämtland mountains.
You can park your car here for the duration of your mountain trip. Payment is made via Swish or card, and parking is free if you’re staying overnight at Storulvån. EV charging facilities are available on-site.
FLIGHTS
Åre/Östersund Airport (located on Frösön) is about 2 hours away by car or train. Trondheim/Værnes Airport is around 1.5 hours away and also accessible by train. Air travel generally has high climate emissions per kilometer – we recommend train and bus as the primary travel options whenever possible.
