STF’s Signature Trails

Sweden is full of incredible hiking trails, but it can sometimes be hard to know where to start. That’s why STF has selected some of the most spectacular routes in the country and brought them together under the name Signature Trails.

These trails offer beautiful and varied landscapes and are distinctive of their regions. Together, they provide a broad picture of Sweden’s unique nature – from mountains to coastline, forests, and open landscapes. Some trails are short and easily accessible, while others are longer and more demanding. Whichever you choose, a magical hiking experience awaits.

What defines a Signature Trail

  1. Beautiful nature experiences that are characteristic of the region.
  2. Clear waymarking and signage.
  3. Three to seven day stages.
  4. Indoor accommodation or a designated camping spot at the end of each stage.
  5. A long-term, sustainable maintenance plan ensuring high quality.
  6. Accessible by public transport to the starting point and back from the endpoint, or the trail forms a loop.

A Swedish Hiking Classic

In a Swedish Hiking Classic, you hike 10 Signature Trails of your choice. You don’t need to complete them in any particular order, and there is no time limit – so it may take several years to finish. You may have already hiked some sections? If so, you’re already on your way!

Once you’ve completed 10 Signature Trails, you’ll receive a diploma by contacting us at vandring@stfturist.se
