STF Ljuder/Grimsnäs Herrgård

More about STF Ljuder/Grimsnäs Herrgård

The main building dates from 1850 but the estate has been there since the mid-16th century and has been occupied by several noble families. Our rooms are all decorated with a personal touch and have fully-sprung beds – you’ll have a comfortable stay. All 15 rooms have cool, laundered and mangled bed linen, towels and lovely robes. An organic breakfast buffet is always included! You can prepare your own lunch and dinner in the convivial guest kitchen, or just have a cup of coffee and chat with the other guests.

Grimsnäs Herrgård is organic all the way from the depths of the kitchen to the edge of our grounds. We serve certified organic, locally produced food – all prepared with love and care! The restaurant is open in the evenings from Mondays to Saturdays, from Midsummer’s Eve until August. However, we can always provide food for our guests – please contact us in advance so we can discuss this further.

The countryside around us is a nature conservation area looked after in consultation with the County Administrative Board and the Swedish Forest Agency. This means that our old oak forests and hazel groves are protected forever. Our activities, the estate’s grounds and the grazing cows are KRAV-certified.

Things to do nearby
If you want to walk, we have everything from a 500-metre footpath for a leisurely ramble to a 110-kilometre hiking trail, the Utvandraleden, running right through the estate. A cool dip in little Lake Badsjön is an attractive prospect and, if fishing is your thing, Lake Laxsjön is stocked with game fish. You can buy a fishing permit from us.

STF Grimsnäs Herrgård makes for a perfect base for day trips in the area. Visit the glassworks in the Kingdom of Crystal, the Kingdom of Furniture, Kalmar (beautiful castle included!), play golf on one of the nearby courses, visit Lessebo, which has the only working paper mill in the Nordic region that produces paper entirely by hand ... or why not go over to Öland for the day? There are plenty of options – all of these are reachable within an hour’s drive!

We look forward to seeing you!
