Close your eyes and relax. Lying in a bed, listening to the chirping birds and buzzing brook. You walk down the meadow and take a morning swim in Fryken. After an invigorating swim you head up to the garden and smell the coffee and freshly baked bread. After breakfast, take a walk and feel your thoughts wander as you are in the present. This is how we want your stay to be. Simple, beautiful and kind. Kind to the body. Kind to the environment. Kind to people. Kind to animals. In the dining room, lunch and the three-course menu included in the half board are served, and our kindness shows even there. Because your senses remember our food. So just close your eyes and enjoy.
History of the farm
Ida Sahlstrom, textile artist, entrepreneur and storyteller, and her husband August Nilsson, bought Sillegårdsbrunnens Varmbadhus and built the beautiful dining room in Old Norse style in 1915. As per Ida's life ideology and will, baronesses, working wives, admirals, farmers, directors and mill workers came together around the tables. Selma Lagerlöf was a frequent guest. Sillegården became known far and wide for its good food, and people traveled from afar. Smaller dwellings were added to the guest house, and today’s guests are housed here.
